Description

When jabber is set up on a server in the domain represented in the jabber ID the client should consult the SRV records to get the address of the server.

XMPP4R has this support in their subversion trunk and they list jabber4r as being no longer maintained.

There's a patch for using XMPP4R in #582, mainly because Jabber4R hangs and won't even connect for some users.

FWIW, I believe XMPP4R released this functionality as part of "more stable than trunk" version 0.3
